The city of Olomouc (102 thousand inhabitants) is one of the most important cities in the Czech Republic. Thanks to its history, the ancient university, sophisticated culture and arts, as well as its geographic position inthe very center of Moravia, it has always attracted tourists, businessmen and entrepreneurs. The fifth largest city in the Czech republic situated on the banks of the river Morava is a traditional business and transit center, a gate to the Jesenik Mountains. The city is sourrounded by plentiful parks and medieval city walls is, after the Prague, the second oldest and largest historical reservationin the Czech republic. Together with beautiful scenery of the parks, there is wonderful complex of historical memorials, ancient churches, fountains and romatic lanes. The historical center of the town was given the status of the architecture conservation area. The Holy Trinity Column in the Upper Square was included into the UNESCO World Herritage List in 2001 .

How to travel to Olomouc ?
In according to its central location in the Moravia, the eastern part of the Czech Republic, motorway connections to Olomouc are excellent, and the completed motorway D11 from Brno and expressway R35 from Ostrava. The best way how to get to Olomouc for students comming from Prague is going here by train with Czech Railways - CD or by bus with Student Agency - SA.
